Embracing Culture to Enhance Community

Shook Kelley has been selected by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) Housing Division in western North Carolina to engage the people of the Cherokee and dig deep into the tribe's culture, evaluate their opportunities and prepare a vision for a master plan and design – for the main objective of the EBCI to provide quality affordable housing opportunities on their 188 acre Camp Creek site in Jackson County. It will be a project that represents a tremendous opportunity for the EBCI to provide the largest number of dwellings for tribal members in a sustainable and cost-effective manner. We are humbled by this opportunity to assist in this effort to expand living options and enhance the community for its members in a way that will reflect the values, culture and humanity of the Cherokee people.
