Shook Kelley is providing master planning, architectural and vision planning services for Boyd Developmentā€™s Hamlin, a 640 acre community featuring a mix of residential, retail, and office uses nestled among lakefront land and former citrus groves, including a 150 acre town center.

Shook Kelley’s mission is to create a unified, master-planned community with a strong brand identity by incorporating the best of Florida’s architectural styles, creating a rural elegance and a feeling of permanence while celebrating, preserving and enhancing the natural environment it resides in. With abundant access to the water, engaging the waterfront with an integrated and responsible program of development, parks and trails is a high priority. With the goal of providing everyone living, working, shopping or playing at Hamlin the benefits of lakefront living, providing a natural asset with docks and open spaces for visitors to enjoy without an obligation to shop.

Located within the Horizon West planning area in Southwest Orange County, Florida, Hamlin will be a waterfront community in Central Florida combining rural elegance with lakeside living. The 640 acres sits along a near two mile stretch of the Western Beltway with immediate access to the rest of metropolitan Orlando.

Shook Kelley is developing a brand vision for the town center that celebrates the rich, storied history of the former citrus grove land that this new community resides on. Inspired by “old Florida’ charm, this master-planned community intends to honor the simpler way of life, coming alive from fence-lined boulevards into a nostalgic Main Street where residents and visitors can enjoy a meal, visit the merchants, or simply stroll along the boardwalk and gravel paths soaking in the sweet aroma of the Hamlin orange blossoms.
